The Atlanta Café Band is an eclectic mix of musicians from diverse backgrounds and musical tastes. Our varied roots are reflected in the music that we play and TACB plays distinctive interpretations of everything from classic rock to country to jazz inspired jams with plenty of blues thrown in. Our original music is a spicy jambalaya of Delta and Chicago blues mixed with country rock! Our inspirational ballads reflect a love of family and tradition.
The unmistakable voice of TACB is our singer/guitarist/songwriter/harp-player/dreamer, Charlie "O" Ohlweiler. Charlie can belt them out and throw ‘em down. While at times he might remind you of Stevie Ray and other times of Howlin’ Wolf, Charlie’s style remains distinctive. His blues/country background and uncanny internal lyrical library give TACB the ability to play just about anything that comes along.

David Emmons vocals, guitar and mandolin. Whether he’s trading off blues/rock riffs with Charlie, mellowing out with the acoustic guitar or mandolin, you’re gonna like what you hear.

Bass player F Wallace Wrede comes from a musical family tradition. His driving bass provides the foundation for TACB’s unique sound while his poignant harmonies impart a whole other dimension to the songs. When “Wal” starts finger picking in our acoustic set, you’re transported to the swamps of the Mississippi Delta.

Drummer/percussionist Bob Vnencak is the backbone of the band. His smooth conga and melodious coffee house drum sets the background for TACB’s acoustic sound. Bob’s great improvs and driving beats put the pedal to the floor!

Acoustic guitar, Karl Wrede is the next generation from the Wrede family of tradition and music; Karl is the son of Wallace Wrede, our bass player. He adds his magic to the mix when ever he accompanies the band and will be sitting in at our gigs when he is available.
